Deer Isle, Maine Poet-in-Residence - Spring 2002

Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary
School students at their final assembly with Christine Hemp. Hemp makes an
annual spring visit to the Deer Isle schools as poet-in-residence. This
year she worked with the third, fourth, and fifth graders. Teachers also
wrote and read poems with their students.

included "growing" a "POET-TREE" where everyone
"bloomed" a poem onto the branches. |
